Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 10 Review: I’m No Cinderella

Almost every character was in the middle of a crisis on the shocking season finale.

On Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 10, Gil threatened Georgia, so she swallowed her courage and confessed her past to Paul.

Almost all of the teens also dealt with identity crises too. That was part of the problem on Ginny & Georgia Season 2. It tried to pack too much in, and not everyone got enough time to shine.

I wished they had focused more on Abby. As mentioned in my review of Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 3, Abby seemed isolated during the MANG fight.

I’m your friend too. What the hell was that?

Abby

Throughout Ginny & Georgia Season 2, Press implied that Abby was overweight, but he was all she had, so she put up with it.

I worried he’d move from insulting comments to abusive as Gil did with young Georgia.

In many ways, Abby was like the female version of Marcus. She didn’t believe she deserved any better and was a failure. That’s dangerous.

Young girls often have sex to keep a guy interested or starve themselves or starve themselves so they’ll be more desirable. No one is worth that.

Abby struggled with her parent’s divorce and not having her parents’ attention. If the series focused on some of these issues that other teens work with, it would shine even more.

Teen depression and teen break-ups are hard. There is no quick fix for depression, even with medicine and support.

I found it interesting that the series tried medication for Marcus and therapy for Ginny. While Marcus doesn’t reveal much, he needs to confide in someone.

He often let loose about his feelings when drunk to whoever would listen. Even Georgia tried to help, telling him she knew he was a good kid and loved Ginny.

Truthfully, neither Marcus nor Ginny needed the pressure of a romantic relationship but good friends who would support them through their moods.

As mentioned in Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 8, why did we have to watch Max mope over Sophie all season?

Thankfully, Max has grown up and realized that emotionally she couldn’t handle the mind games Sophie played or being friends with her.

Yay, Max! She finally thought about what was best for her, continuing her relationship with Silver.

Hopefully, if we get a Season 3, we’ll get the fun side of Max as their relationship develops.

The kids were still traumatized from seeing Gil attack their mom. Children of abuse often act jumpy and skittish, and Zion knew something was wrong immediately.

I’ve mentioned repeatedly that I love Zion, and it’s because he always made sure Austin felt cared for too.

Not every family has that where one parent will take both kids, but love isn’t always about biology.

Austin will need other male figures since he refused to see his dad after what happened. Young boys need to see other men treat their moms with kindness. Both Zion and Paul have treated Georgia kindly.

Gil: You can’t keep him from me! I have rights.
Georgia: Gil, I’m not doing anything. He’s upset.
Gil: Then, you better talk to him or something, or I’ll make your life hell.

Having Gil be this mean and violent makes Georgia even more rootable. Watching him physically attack young Georgia made my stomach hurt.

I could understand why she was terrified to be pregnant by him and why she would do anything to get away from him, including framing him for embezzlement.

Gil still had the upper hand since he knew Georgia’s past, and that had to stop if there was ever going to be any peace.

While Georgia was inclined to run away again since she didn’t know if someone as ethical as Paul could handle her past, Ginny convinced her to confess.

Georgia: I’m not normal. I don’t belong. I’m sorry, Peach, but I can’t marry him. I’m just going to drag him down.
Ginny: Mom, Paul loves you.
Georgia: I told you. Love isn’t enough.

Georgia had never trusted anyone the way she trusted Paul. She was risking her life and the kids’ lives, and she knew she didn’t deserve forgiveness.

Brianne Howey shined in Georgia’s speech as she confessed every wrongdoing and lamented that she never got a happy ending. She portrayed every emotion, from regret to sadness to hope.

Paul: Why didn’t I know about any of this until right now?
Georgia: Because you are literally the knight in shining armor I’ve dreamed about since I was a little girl. But Cinderella gets the prince and the happy ending, and I’m no Cinderella.

Paul’s reaction showed what a stand-up guy he really was. While he was initially angry, I appreciated that he called in his legal team to ensure that Gil never bothered them again.

It didn’t matter if he was angry with Georgia –no one would harm her or the kids. That statement to Gil won me over totally to Team Paul.

Gil: You don’t realize the mistake you’re making. You don’t want to do all this for her. She’s not worth it. Trust me.
Paul: From now on, if you want to see my stepson or speak to my wife, you do so through me.

It took a village to plan the wedding that Georgia canceled. She finally realized how many people in town cared for her.

It was bittersweet that Joe lent them Milkshake for the wedding.

I almost thought he was giving up, but then I saw his reaction at the wedding.

Is a love triangle still brewing?

That was some cliffhanger, though. I had a sinking feeling when they had Georgia end Tom’s suffering. Mercy killings never end well in the eyes of the law.

Poor Austin. He thought it was his fault Georgia got arrested because of what he witnessed in Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 8 and Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 9.

That kid will be even more traumatized and needs therapy just as much as Ginny now.

The series needs to be renewed to see how Georgia fights this and how the rest of the family copes with this news. What will happen to Austin since his mom is in jail? Does Paul or Zion have any legal rights over him? We don’t want Gil getting his claws into that child.

It took longer for Ginny & Georgia Season 2 to develop. I enjoyed this season’s second half better, as it kicked the mystery and mental health arcs into high gear.

What were your favorite storylines of this season?

What would you like to see in a potential Season 3? Let us know in the comments.

Sam Mendes Says Gender-Neutral Awards Are “Inevitable”: “I Think That It’s Perfectly Reasonable”

Sam Mendes is opening up about how he feels about gender-neutral awards and what he thinks about award shows in general.

During a recent interview, the Empire of Light director was asked about Emma Corrin’s call to eliminate gender from award shows.

“I have total sympathy with it, yeah, and I think it might well be inevitable in the end,” he said in the BBC interview. “I think that’s the way it’s moving and I think that it’s perfectly reasonable.”

Mendes who won an Oscar in the year 2000 for his directorial work on American Beauty and a BAFTA Award for 1917, has a practical look at what the real purpose of awards are for.

“For me, people forget with awards, I think this happens all the time, they use it as a bellwether for the industry but the truth is awards are a TV show,” he continued. “You know, awards are there to promote films. If that film wins an award, I’m more likely to go and see it and that’s what you’re doing there. It’s not about yourself, it’s not about the art or craft of the industry, especially, it’s about selling films.”

When the BBC reporter said he was seemingly dismissing the accolades he had received in the past, Mendes added, “I’m not dismissing the importance of them but I’m saying they were there to promote films and the craft and art of films. They’re the shop window but they’re not the thing itself.”

Corrin, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, plays Diana, Princess of Wales, in The Crown. She is nominated for a Golden Globe award for her work on The Policeman in the Best Actress — Television Series Drama category. Corrin told BBC News that she hoped for a future where gender-neutral awards were prevalent.

“I hope for a future in which that happens,” she said. “I don’t think the categories are inclusive enough at the moment.”

At the time of her nomination for the Golden Globes, Corrin had not come out yet and still accepted she/her pronouns.

“It’s difficult for me at the moment trying to justify in my head being non-binary and being nominated in female categories,” Corrin added. “When it comes to categories, do we need to make it specific as to whether you’re being nominated for a female role or a male role?”

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 Premiere Review: Fierce Talent Shines On The Main Stage

It’s a Super Sweet 16 (well, more like 15!) MTV premiere for RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2023. We’re starting our year with a two-hour premiere that served it all on the main stage.

Double the episodes meant double the realness on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 Episode 1 and RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 Episode 2.

Plus, Ariana Grande was the iconic A-list guest judge this time around for the premiere. Jaws fell to the floor and stayed there for a long time!

RuPaul’s Drag Race has typically done a split premiere for the past few seasons.

We’d get two weeks of the queens split into equal groups introducing themselves and performing in the same challenges. Then, there would be fake eliminations where the queens would “miraculously” come back into the competition. It’s a formula.

This premiere had two episodes, but the structure felt so different. No more waiting around and painting by numbers! The momentum kicked into high gear to get through 16 iterations of every queen performing.

Irene Dubois: You are out of breath already!
Aura Mayari: Girl, I was doing too much.
Irene Dubois: You were doing the utmost!
[They all laugh]

It felt very refreshing to get something new and start the competition. The stakes mattered in this premiere, which is important for a big competition like this. Queens do need to go home.

Thankfully, Drag Race has learned its lesson from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 14. No more wasted weeks; let’s get on with the eliminations.

Before we get to the elimination, we gotta talk about some of the best looks and performances of the night!

The top entrance looks came from Anetra, Malaysia Babydoll Foxx, Sasha Colby, Amethyst, and Mistress Isabelle Brooks. Anetra’s black and yellow spikey leather ensemble was perfect for a stunt queen. You could tell she could easily perform in this outfit at a moment’s notice.

And it showed it had a bit of edge to her.

Amethyst had a similar vibe to her neon Y2K pop diva look. The inspiration brought back plenty of nostalgia to the music scene of the past, and even though it’s been done before on Drag Race, she pulled off the look well.

Malaysia’s fox gown was pure camp and glamor. It’s hard to take the look seriously with the fox tail and ears, but the ensemble was fashionable. It helped that the fox was fitted to her body and didn’t look like a onesie.

Sasha’s and Mistress’s ensembles were stunning from head to toe!

Sasha Colby is a legendary drag queen whose entrance look didn’t disappoint. The big hair, the intricate bodysuit design, and the makeup tied it together into one beautiful ensemble. I can’t wait for what she brings to the runway next.

Luxx Noir London: It’s so pretty in here. Oh my god!
Irene Dubois: It’s very nice. It reminds me of your face.
Luxx Noir London: Ugh, thank you!
Irene Dubois: Brick. [Laughs]

Mistress equally served style and flair with the black lace gown. Though, her choice of kitten heels could only work for the entrance. Let the queens make all the jokes, but not the judges.

Could you imagine if she wore a kitten heel in front of RuPaul and Michelle Visage? They would tear it down.

It was a nice touch to have the Mini Challenge return to its roots by honoring RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 1 and RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 2. We’re 15 seasons into the franchise; nostalgia is a part of the herstory.

Photoshoot challenges are ingrained in the spirit of the show. The style and themes have changed over the years, so the photoshoots haven’t ever truly gone away.

Though, nothing compares to when the queens are thrown into outrageous scenarios.

Car wash with hoses shot into their faces? Riding a motorcycle with a fan blowing their way? Love it. Give us all the chaos.

Irene Dubois and Loosey DeLuca winning the Mini Challenges were surprising choices. RuPaul typically goes for overtly sexy or overtly comedic for the final photos.

Luxx Noir London, Aura Mayari, and Sasha Colby had sexier final shots than Irene. By comparison, her shot was cleaner and less chaotic. However, the final shot wasn’t her covered in water or as drenched as the other queens.

The winning shot should’ve been someone who used the water and Pit Crew more.

For the wind photo, Loosey’s picture was good with the humor she brought. Though, it felt like she was in a close race with Salina EsTitties and Jax since they both brought the camp and the sex. It was anyone’s guess for the second shot.

In the case of the Maxi Challenge, the talent show likes to drop a few traps to trip up queens.

For example, they were choreographing the group number. This move is about causing drama and getting the queens to turn on each other. Someone always tries to take over and be the head choreographer because they think they can do it.

Good job to the producers; they knew exactly what they were doing here.

Oww, my nose. [Head tilt]

Marcia Marcia Marcia

The tension was thick between Aura Mayari and Marcia Marcia Marcia. We can all agree that they aligned on Marcia choreographing, right? So why did it have to be a power struggle for Aura to take over?

If Aura wanted to choreograph, she should’ve taken the job first. This chaos will no doubt come up again in future group challenges.

The talent show performances from the queens were mostly fun. When everyone typically does a lip-sync and dance number, there’s little room for surprises.

Which, just like the choreography, sets up another trap for the queens.

Why try to go outside the box when RuPaul loves a high-energy lip-sync dance number? Avoid doing things like a comedy routine, singing, or performing when it hasn’t been perfected or limits you.

The top and bottom queens were pretty much set.

I agreed with the judges that Anetra, Marcia, and Jax had the best routines of the show. Spice, Luxx, and Salina EsTitties would’ve been the next highest had they not been safe. Their performances were as fun, upbeat, and eye-catching as the top queens.

Anetra’s lip-sync was mind-blowing and fun! She truly is a stunt queen with all those kicks and dance moves.

And the high kicks breaking the wood? Iconic.

The same goes for Jax. Her jump-roping with her braids and then doing multiple backflips on stage will go down as one of the best acrobatic numbers on RuPaul’s Drag Race. She was a clear second; Marcia’s comedic ballet routine would follow after Jax.

On the opposite side, Irene Dubois, Amethyst, and Loosey LaDuca were the right choices for the bottom. Their talent performances paled compared to the others, and in Irene’s case, it wasn’t working from start to finish.

How could the ice water bit be funny? The longer version may have allowed for more jokes and build-up, but it felt flat. In the words of Trinity the Tuck, “Where were the jokes?!”

Amethyst had a decent number with the baby joke. However, the judges were right that the punchline was lost after the baby got revealed earlier. If she had hidden the baby longer, she could’ve been safe.

Loosey’s issues were due to singing live. She looked stiff on stage, and she was very pitchy. Michelle Visage is a professional singer who harshly criticizes any queen for not hitting their notes. It was a bad call on Loosey’s part.

For the runway of “Who is she?!”, the queens served plenty of style and fashion. You can’t go wrong with wearing your signature drag. It’s their outfits!

Plenty of the queens slayed the runway, but the best looks came from Anetra, Malaysia, Sasha Colby, and Jax.

Aura Mayari: What happened?
Irene Dubois: She looked under my skirt and got hit with a secret.

Jax’s New York-inspired bodysuit and jacket fit her perfectly. The look exuded the energy and attitude she brought to the main stage. On the other hand, Malaysia and Sasha went for glamor in gowns that accentuated every feature.

Sasha’s Miss Continental gown was stunning from head to toe!

And it’s no wonder Anetra snatched the Maxi Challenge victory this week. Her futuristic gold gown was chic while also showcasing a new glamorous side to her. A great end to a strong week for her.

The lip-sync of “7 Rings” by Ariana Grande was a clean and simple number. Nothing too outrageous to take away from the song or lead a queen to danger.

Amethyst and Irene Dubois were pretty neck-and-neck for much of the song; they matched the lyrics and vibe well. However, Amethyst had that little extra spark where she embodied the energy and delivered the style.

She seemed right at home, like she knew every lyric in her head and wanted to be Ariana Grande. It was a close race, but she snatched it at the chorus with her splits.

Plus, RuPaul is probably gutted to lose a potential villain this early on in Irene. But her talent show … it was that awkward.

Last Thoughts From The Werk Room:

  • Sugar and Spice will either thrive after their time on Drag Race, or it will hurt them. Their talkative segments kept going and going.

  • The Werk Room needs a countdown to pressure the queens to get ready. Maybe a clock with push Sugar and Spice to get ready faster?

  • A lot of shade from Irene Dubois and Mistress Isabelle Brooks this early. It’s only the premiere; they wasted no time causing drama.

  • We must know the tea about Amethyst and Robin Fierce’s past together. There’s a story there!

Now, over to you, Drag Race fans.

What did you think of “One Night Only, Part 1” and “One Night Only, Part 2”?

Are you sad to see Irene Dubois get eliminated first? What was your favorite talent? Which entrance look served it the best?

‘Yellowstone’: Taylor Sheridan Knows How He Wants To End The Drama, Says Star Wes Bentley

Yellowstone is nowhere near an expiration date but that doesn’t mean co-creator/EP Taylor Sheridan doesn’t already know how his addictive drama should end. At a panel for the series at the Screen Actors Guild headquarters in Los Angeles Friday, star Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton) acknowledged that Sheridan already has a series finale in mind for the popular Paramount Network drama.

“He has said to me, he knows how he wants to end it,” says Bentley, who was joined on the panel by Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater), Kelsey Asbille (Monica Dutton) and Dawn Olivieri (Sarah Atwood). “That was a while ago. I’m sure he didn’t know how we were going to get there but he knows how.”

When asked if he feels like a Dutton (or two) will have to die by the time the show ends, Bentley said simply, “I’m not a Dutton.”

In fact, Bentley already thinks his character is practically dead. “I don’t think he’s playing a game here. He does want to see something left for his son. I think he has seen himself [dead] from before the beginning of the season. He’s already end-gamed what is happening to him. He knows what’s coming and he’s trying to get what he can out of it by making some moves and taking opportunities.”

“Is he just holding onto power or is he actually trying to do something with the land?” Bentley continued. “I think Jamie has valid questions about a lot of things and that’s what’s complicated about him. He has a good argument. He doesn’t go about it the right way necessarily, or I guess in ways people hate, but it’s his way and it’s who he is.” (Read a recap from the midseason finale here).

Bentley and his co-stars don’t know what’s next for the drama; they are scheduled to resume production later this month to shoot the episodes that will air this summer. Instead, the four cast-members regaled the SAG crowd with tales from the set and what it’s like to work with the notoriously tight-lipped Sheridan, who prefers to leave the acting up to the actors.

In other words, they don’t expect much feedback from Sheridan before someone yells action.

“My first experience with Taylor was on 1883,” said Olivieri, who played Claire Dutton, the sister of Tim McGraw’s James Dutton, in the Yellowstone prequel. She nows portrays the vixen who seduces Jamie into calling for John Dutton’s impeachment. “And I gotta tell you, when the director-writer doesn’t share with you how to act, the first feeling is complete insecurity. Because you’re like, ‘oh my God, I sound terrible. I’m doing a terrible job. He hasn’t said one word to me at all, and I must be messing up. He is just thinking how he can fire me, right?’ But that insecurity is real magic because it gives you this extra force that you didn’t have when you started.”

Birmingham recalled a scene early on with Danny Huston (Dan Jenkins) that required the both of them to act like they were playing golf. “First of all, it was supposed to happen in the golf club. They made a brand new suit for me and everything. We arrived on set and Taylor goes, ‘we’re gonna golf today.’ I said, ‘oh, that’s cute.’ He said to go to the pro shop and get outfitted. That’s all he said. So Danny and I were out there, cameras are set up and we’re waiting for blocking. Then I hear, ‘okay, we’re rolling.’ What? We haven’t blocked anything. So we muddle through it and I say, ‘oh, he’s gonna come out and fix it.’ He never came out. I said, ‘Danny, I think we’re on our own.’ So we had to direct ourselves for this whole scene.”

The actors wrapped the panel by sharing some of their more awkward encounters with fans. Asbille remembered how a cop walked up to her at a Walgreen’s because he suspected she was famous, but didn’t truly recognize her until he saw her dad wearing a Yellowstone T-shirt.

“He might as well had an arrow on the shirt that pointed to me,” Asbille said of her dad, who’s “a big fan.”

Olivieri talked about how some clerk at the local hay store in Arkansas — where she has a ranch and horses of her own — was skeptical of her stardom so he asked her to wait until his family arrived to confirm her identity.

“Then the cousins roll up in their car, followed by Jim Bob on his tractor,” recalls Olivieri. “It’s such a small town. I was there for probably 30 minutes while the whole extended family kept rolling in because they couldn’t believe what was happening.”

Bentley admitted that most of his fans just want to pick apart Jamie. “I get therapy, which is weird. They want to talk to me about all his issues and what’s wrong with him. Or they yell at me across the room how much they hate me. But they’re smiling, so I feel safe. No one’s followed me anywhere yet.”

Astrid & Lilly Save the World: Cancelled, No Season Two for Syfy TV Series

Astrid & Lilly Save the World TV show on Syfy: canceled or renewed for season 2?

(Photo: Alex Stead/Blue Ice Pictures/SYFY)

These BFFs won’t be rescuing their planet after all.  Syfy has cancelled the Astrid & Lilly Save the World series, so there won’t be a second season. The first season of 10 episodes finished airing last March.

A supernatural comedy series, the Astrid & Lilly Save the World TV show stars Jana Morrison and Samantha Aucoin with Olivier Renaud, Julia Doyle, Geri Hall, Noah Perchard, Spencer Macpherson, Christina Orjalo, Kolton Stewart, Megan Hutchings, and Michael McCreary. The story revolves around a pair of BFF teens who attend Pine Academy. Lilly (Aucoin) is sweet-natured and intuitive with a passion for investigative photography. Meanwhile, Astrid (Morrison) is bold and unfiltered with a knack for “sciencey” gadgets. High school is hard enough when you’re different, but when these outcasts accidentally crack open a portal to a terrifyingly quirky monster dimension, it gets a lot more complicated. With some help from an extra-dimensional monster hunter named Brutus (Renaud), it’s up to Astrid and Lilly to vanquish the creepy creatures and save the world, becoming the badass heroes they were meant to be. That is, if they can survive the horrors of high school.

The first season of Astrid & Lilly Save the World averages a 0.04 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 240,000 viewers in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. It was Syfy’s lowest-rated show in the demo and a middle-of-the-road performer in total viewership.

What do you think? Have you watched the Astrid & Lilly Save the World TV series on Syfy? Are you sorry to hear that this show wasn’t renewed for a second season?

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 6 Review: A Very Merry Ginny & Georgia Special

The holidays always bring drama.

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 6 was no exception, as Paul and Zion’s families clashed at Georgia’s holiday dinner, and Georgia learned two secrets that affected both of her children.

While Georgia may have retreated from the insults towards her, she’s a fierce mama bear and will protect her cubs with every fiber of her being.

Christmas is about magic and forming new traditions. That’s where the problems started. Georgia was ingrained with keeping traditions the same, whereas Paul wanted his parents involved in everything.

That thought scared Georgia because she always had to put on her Southern act around Paul’s parents, which was exhausting.

Paul was a lovely, stand-up guy, but he didn’t understand what Georgia needed. Even with the holiday carnival, he never understood how important it was for her to raise money for needy families because no one ever helped her.

Almost everyone in Wellsbury acted snobby, wanting to write a quick check versus wanting to do the work.

Generally, Paul doesn’t care about the image that much, but he seemed angry that Georgia promoted Santa Claus granting wishes.

Christmas meant everything to Georgia and the kids; they desperately needed some magical glitter at the carnival.

I understand you are going through a hard time with Ginny, but I won’t allow you to disrespect me. Not at work and not at home. I live there now, and I won’t be disrespected in my own home. I’m there waiting for you to let me in.

Paul

Things only became worse from there. Ever since Georgia met Paul’s family in Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 1, she had worried about impressing them.

Having Paul’s parents and Zion’s parents at the same dinner was disastrous. Having your future in-laws meet your ex’s parents at a stressful holiday dinner is a bad idea.

They’re from different classes and have other ideas on how Ginny should be raised, but they agreed that neither set liked Georgia. When Zion’s mom revealed that Georgia never went to college, the fireworks exploded, and Georgia looked even worse to Paul’s prestigious parents.

Paul didn’t know how to handle this situation. He’d been trying hard to get his parents to accept Georgia’s kids in new holiday traditions, and another bombshell hit.

Paul hasn’t been around enough to understand how to deal with her panic attacks. He will need to learn, or he’ll always feel jealous that Zion and Joe understand a part of Georgia that he doesn’t.

It was sad that Georgia responded better to them and wanted nothing to do with Paul when upset. I loved that after Zion soothed her enough, Georgia ran to Joe.

I don’t like her taking advantage of him, but they share such a sweet familiarity.

I wished the two of them could have gotten together, but it almost seemed like Georgia was saying goodbye to old dreams as she looked at the horse ornament.

Georgia: You know what I like about you, Joe?
Joe: What do you like about me?
Georgia: I never feel like you’re judging me.

Something about Gil being in town made Georgia have a massive panic attack. It’s apparent Ginny inherited them from her mom. What about Gil scares Georgia so much?

He was charming to her and toddler Ginny in the past and polite to Austin and his classmates.

It was a red flag when he wanted Austin to keep his return a secret from Georgia. Again, certain things should not be kept from mom.

While certain men can be charming, charming men can also be dangerous, so we’ve got our eye on him.

Ginny and Georgia were more alike than either of them realized. They both take painful barbs against themselves and those they love personally. Georgia believed everyone around her hated her, and it crushed her that her daughter did too.

Ginny: I’m sorry about the poem, mom
Georgia: I’m not doing this here, Virginia.
Ginny: I didn’t mean to embarrass you.
Georgia: I said it was fine.
Ginny: You can’t even look at me!

If Georgia had ever stopped making every catastrophe about her, she would have understood that Ginny struggled more with their past. She didn’t hate Georgia and understood the sacrifices, but she needed to be heard. Georgia is often too dramatic, and that’s rough on a teen.

It’s apparent that they struggle with panic attacks when both of them become overwhelmed. Hopefully, they can work through some of those issues together.

During her panic attack, Georgia felt like she had failed their daughter and was the monster everyone thought she was. Again, she was being melodramatic, but those would be some excellent points for her and Ginny to discuss.

I don’t condone mothers reading their children’s diaries, but I’m relieved Ginny’s secret is finally out. I fully expect Georgia will give Zion an earful for not telling her.

Barging into Ginny’s room was not the best way to handle the situation with an already fragile teenage girl.

Show me! You burn yourself? Show me!

This was the climactic reveal many of us had been waiting for. Since everything was about Georgia, she first assumed it was her fault. Since Georgia suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, she will hopefully understand some of Ginny’s issues.

Georgia: My special beautiful girl, why would you do that?
Ginny: I need it. I want to stop.

For once, Georgia didn’t disappoint Ginny. She embraced her and wished she could take the darkness instead. She wasn’t over the top, but a loving, comforting mom.

Now that more secrets have been revealed, what’s next for the final four episodes? How will Paul deal with yet another male figure in the kids’ life when he finally got used to Zion?

Have Ginny and Georgia finally revealed all their secrets to each other? Will Paul learn to understand what Georgia needs?

How will Gil’s return affect Georgia and the kids? Chime in below in the comments.

‘BMF’: Heather Zuhlke To Serve As Interim Showrunner As Randy Huggins Focuses On Health

EXCLUSIVE: BMF executive producer Heather Zuhlke will take over as interim showrunner of the drama series beginning with Season 3.

Series creator Randy Huggins will be taking a step back following an unexpected health complication. Production will continue to keep Randy engaged in all things BMF to ensure the show’s vision remains the same.

At last night’s Season 2 premiere, executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson honored Huggins’ passionate contributions to the show and assuaged the crowd at the Chinese Theater that the series remains in capable hands. The series returns to Starz on January 6.

Huggins and his family shared personal videos at the celebration of his progress as well as a behind-the-scenes look at him during the filming of Season 2. A tribute video from the cast, crew, and executives followed who cheered for their leader who is deeply missed as he continues on his health journey.

Stepping in as interim showrunner on BMF is bittersweet for Zuhlke, who remembers working so closely with Huggins on the series with Deadline. She tenderly recalled how he always called her “his right hand” when they collaborated on the first two seasons of Black Mafia Family and how much fun they had together. She said she looks forward to working with him again when he’s ready, words that were echoed by multiple sources at the soiree.

Based on a true story, BMF chronicles the unconventional journey to success of the Flenory brothers, Demetrius Flenory “Big Meech” (Demetrius Flenory Jr.) and Terry Flenory “Southwest Tee” (Da’Vinchi) who rose from the depths of poverty, navigating the war on drugs in Detroit, and became game changers in hip-hop and culture.

Invitation to a Bonfire: AMC Cancels Tatiana Maslany Series Mid-Filming, Creator Hopes to Complete Story Elsewhere

Invitation to a Bonfire TV show on AMC: canceled

AMC is continuing to cut back. The cable network has cancelled plans to air the second and final season of the 61st Street series. The show’s final eight episodes have already been produced, so they’ll likely surface elsewhere.  The fate of Invitation to a Bonfire looks less sure.

Based on the novel of the same name by Adrienne Celt, Invitation to a Bonfire was created by Rachel Caris Love, who also serves as showrunner and an executive producer. A psychological thriller, it was ordered to series last February and stars Tatiana Maslany, Freya Mavor, Pilou Asbæk, and Ngozi Anyanwu.

The series is inspired by the co-dependent marriage of famed Russian novelist Vladimir Nabokov and his wife, editor, and translator, Vera.

Set in the 1930s at an all-girls boarding school in New Jersey, Invitation to a Bonfire follows Zoya (Mavor), a young Russian immigrant and groundskeeper, who is drawn into a lethal love triangle with the school’s newest faculty member, an enigmatic novelist named Leo Orlov (Asbæk), and his bewitching wife, Vera (Maslany).

Invitation to a Bonfire was ordered to series last February and six episodes were to be produced. Today, Variety reported that filming on four of the installments had been completed before AMC pulled the plug.

The decision to cancel the show midway through production stems from cost-cutting measures that were announced by AMC in December. The company revealed that it would take write-downs for up to $475 million.

Deadline reports that Love has already had conversations about finding “a partner who’s capable of giving us the support that we need.”

“Everyone on the cast and crew is really crushed,” Love tells Deadline. “When they called me, they said this had absolutely nothing to do with the creative and everything to do with finance and accounting. That’s a very challenging thing to process when you’re making something really beautiful and special.”

“We made something one-of-a-kind … an erotic, suspenseful, and lush drama — told through the female gaze,” Love continues. “We made a nesting doll of surprises. At the core, deceit, infidelity, murder. Our entire cast gave stunning performances. Freya Mavor, Pilou Asbæk, Ngozi Anyanwu, and Emmy-winner Tatiana Maslany were breathtaking. They gave their souls, as did our whole cast and crew. Emmy-nominee Cherien Dabis directed the first two episodes, while the fabulous Lily Mariye directed episode 103 and 104, and the incomparable Helen Shaver was to helm our grand finale. I’m immensely proud of what we made together and eager to look toward the future of Bonfire.”
