The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 20 Spoilers: Raymond Says Goodbye to Friends

Two main issues must be addressed as The Blacklist Season 10  — and the series — concludes.

The first is what the future will be for the Task Force, and the second is what happens to Raymond Reddington. The former is contingent on the latter because that is how it has always been. There would be no Task Force without Red.

These two issues have been the central theme of The Blacklist Season 10, as Raymond and the Task Force fielded threats from different corners to stay afloat.

It all began with Wujing’s return on The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 1 with the sole mission of seeing Reddington fall and the Task Force with him.

After a game of wits, Raymond emerged on top, but that would not last long because someone else set their sights on the Task Force instead of Reddington.

Arthur Hudson launched his campaign against them, and he’s been making huge strides that would not bode well for the Task Force.

Elsewhere, Raymond prepared for the future.

We have seen him do things he has never done before, including giving out stuff for free and offering up some of his most lucrative enterprises.

The Morgana Logistics Corporation (The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 17) saw him give up his shipping business, while Room 417 (The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 19) saw him give up his intelligence network.

He had prioritized spending time with the people he cared about in his life.

All these things would signal that he was preparing for the end and knew what it would look like.

There are many possible scenarios of how he will go out. After analyzing many of those scenarios, we were convinced that Raymond Reddington’s death might be inevitable.

There is not much left for the show to tackle now apart from these two pressing issues, and spoilers for The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 20 tease just that.

Arthur Hudson managed to get a very damning recording for the Task Force and Harold Cooper. In the recording, Harold admitted to having participated in treasonous plans while working with Reddington.

It had been what Arthur was after, and armed with it, he could convince anyone to look into the task force.

And he succeeds.

He is allowed entrance into the Post Office, and with the FBI agent he allied himself with on The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 17, they search for evidence of the wrongdoings of the Task Force.

That means no one works on any case and is allowed to leave the Post Office. As Hudson and his people did through the Post Office’s systems, Ressler, Dembe, and everyone else who works there sit down and wait with bated breath.

It is worth remembering that Raymond used the Hexroot program on The Blacklist Season 10, Episode 9 to delete or redact any evidence of his involvement with the Task Force.

While that might not have been good for him as it rendered his agreement with Main Justice inexistent, maybe he foresaw the future and helped them without their knowledge.

Arthur might not find anything incriminating.

In fact, all he might find are all the recent wins the Task Force has racked up in the weeks past.

As that happens in the Post Office, Cooper is called upon to answer some questions.

Even if the Task Force is not overseen heavily by the government like most other task forces are, they are still under the guidance of the Attorney General. If anything goes wrong, they are answerable to them.

And the Attorney General needs answers.

When Cooper is called upon to answer questions, he usually feels very confident because the trappings of good work are visible.

Yet, a lot has gone wrong in the last few months it doesn’t inspire confidence.

Things don’t go so well this time, as he gets caught on the defensive.

At this juncture, anyone with half a brain would do the obvious thing and shut down this task force. To an outsider, the CI has gone rogue, and they cannot bring him back to the table.

It wouldn’t be surprising if the Attorney General wants the Task Force shut down before they do any more damage to the FBI’s reputation.

The task for Harold would be convincing the Attorney General that they are still important and deserve a chance to continue the work. Also, they should not be prosecuted. Cooper will have a lot cut out for him.

One of the things Raymond has prioritized in these last few months is spending time with friends.

It was why he broke Robert Vesco out of prison on The Backlist Season 10 Episode 4. Unfortunately, he was reminded of why that was important because Vesco would not be alive much longer.

Whatever happens with Raymond, he can’t be in the lives of people he cares about in the foreseeable future. Any time he spends with them is precious, and he maximizes that.

Raymond spends the day with Agnes as Harold gets grilled by the Attorney General. They go out for ice cream, each relishing the sweetness of their favorite flavor and the moment.

Finding a loyal person in the business Raymond has been involved in is not easy, and he has been betrayed by more people than one.

Yet one person has never wavered in their support for him. Even in the thickest of Marvin Gerard‘s campaign to end Raymond, they remain steadfast in their support.

Sure, they might complain more than most, and it gets on Raymond’s nerves, but he knows he can count on them.

That person is Heddie Hawkins. She is someone Raymond considers a dear friend, so she visits her.

Is he saying goodbye? “Arthur Hudson” will chart the course of the series finale, so it will be vital.

Catch the episode live on NBC this Thursday at 8 p.m. and our review right after on TV Fanatic.

And Just Like That: Sarah Jessica Parker Teases Kim Cattrall’s Return

And Just Like That is staging the mother of all comebacks with its upcoming second season.

News broke earlier this year that Kim Cattrall had filmed a special cameo for And Just Like That Season 2, and now, we have some details.

Sarah Jessica Parker opened up to TV Line about the decision to bring Cattrall back as Samantha Jones.

“It was just an idea that we all discussed, [showrunner] Michael Patrick [King] and I and the studio,” Parker explained to the outlet, adding that Samantha Jones’s (Cattrall) return comes at a “very opportune moment in a very specific story, in a sort of consequential event in Carrie’s life.”

While we know Cattrall didn’t film with any of her co-stars, Jessica Parker did have some intel to share.

“It’s just this really nice, quick little phone call that just feels so normal, and just is a perfect portrait of the longevity of that friendship, and what it means and the ease in which it exists,” the actress explained.

Cattrall had been vocal about not wanting to return to the Sex and the City universe, so the news of the comeback was shocking.

King said the comeback is “some kind of fan magic, some kind of show business magic.”

“I’m surprised by it as well… Something manifested from somewhere, and all of a sudden, I got to have Samantha and Carrie in a scene together.”

And Just Like That Season 2 is set to premiere Thursday, June 22, 2023, exclusively on Max.

Don’t expect Cattrall’s comeback to air for a while yet, however: The original SATC star is not likely to appear until the season finale.

And Just Like That Season 1 started with the revelation that Samantha and Carrie were no longer friends, but the pair exchanged text messages as the series progressed.

Given the reported feud between Jessica Parker and Cattrall, many fans were resigned to the fact that they would never share the screen again.

But maybe this cameo could be the beginning of something more, assuming Max picks up a third season of the Sex and the City revival.

And Just Like That Season 2 will also bring back John Corbett as Aidan Shaw, so we have plenty to look forward to with this one.

Lost Showrunner Responds to ‘Racist, Hostile’ Work Environment Allegations

When Lost burst onto screens in 2004, it delivered compelling mysteries that delighted audiences.

According to a new book that delves into the behind-the-scenes drama, the set was anything but delightful.

Vanity Fair shared an excerpt of Maureen Ryan’s upcoming book, Burn It Down.

While conducting interviews, Ryan said that “cruel, brutal, destructive, racist, sexist, bullying, angry, abusive and hostile” were some of the words she heard.

“When you have to go home and cry for an hour before you can see your kids because you have to excise all the stress you’ve been holding in, you’re not going to write anything good after that,” Monica Owusu-Breen, who worked on Lost Season 3, said.

She described the series as “the most ‘nakedly hostile’ work environment she’d ever experienced.”

Harold Perrineau, who played Michael on the series, recalls realizing as Lost Season 1 played out:

“It became pretty clear that I was the Black guy,” he said, adding:

“Daniel [Dae Kim, who played Jin] was the Asian guy. And then you had Jack and Kate and Sawyer,” played by Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lily, and Josh Holloway.

The actor said he was shocked at how the writers had written Walt being kidnapped by the Others on Lost Season 2.

He recalled being surprised about how little Michael mentioned his son.

“I don’t think I can do that,” he recalls of his reaction to the aftermath in an early script.

“This is just furthering the narrative that nobody cares about Black boys, even Black fathers.”

Perrinau took his concerns to showrunners Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof at the time.

“If you’re going to use me, let’s work. I’m here to work. I’m good at my job and I’ll do anything you want,” he said.

“Except be ‘the Black guy’ on your show.”

The From star revealed that he learned months later from Cuse that he was being written out of the show.

“[Cuse] said, ‘Well, you said to us, if we don’t have anything good for you, you want to go,'” Perrineau alleged.

“‘[Y]ou said you don’t have enough work here, so we’re letting you go.'”

Lindelof, meanwhile, was quoted from multiple sources as saying, “[He] called me racist, so I fired his ass.”

“My level of fundamental inexperience as a manager and a boss, my role as someone who was supposed to model a climate of creative danger and risk-taking but provide safety and comfort inside of the creative process — I failed in that endeavor,” Lindelof said in an interview with Ryan for the book.

“[T]alking about the human effect of being the only woman or the only person of color and how you are treated and othered — I was a part of that, a thousand percent,” he added.

Lindelof also specifically spoke about Perrineau’s complaints about the show, alleging that Michael’s story was brought to a premature conclusion because Malcolm David Kelley had a growth spurt.

“Harold was completely and totally right to point that out.”

“It’s one of the things that I’ve had deep and profound regrets about in the two decades since.”

Burn It Down: Power, Complicity, and a Call For Change in Hollywood releases June 6, 2023.

27 Saddest TV Deaths EVER

1.
Gary Mendez – A Million Little Things

Gary Mendez - A Million Little Things

It was difficult going into A Million Little Things Season 5, knowing Gary would probably die from cancer, but we weren’t prepared for much his death hurt. The last two episodes of Season 5 were the hardest, knowing that Gary wouldn’t survive and that he and Maggie were on borrowed time. We were all sobbing as Gary asked Eddie and Rome to help him end his life. Seeing Gary say goodbye to his loved ones made it real.
Gary had been the heart and soul of the series, so it hurt to lose him.

2.
Will Gardner – The Good Wife

Will Gardner - The Good Wife

As it is with many of the deaths on this list, it’s not so much crying about the death itself that happens during these episodes, but it was impossible not to cry watching Diane and Kalinda dealing with the melee at the courthouse and trying to get in touch with Alicia. Will’s body on the table, knowing nothing could be done. It was all horrific and unexpected.

3.
Joyce Summers – Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Joyce Summers - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This death happened just like in real life. It was completely unexpected. There weren’t bullets or vampires. Joyce thought she was doing fine, but succumbed to a brain tumor while at home alone on the sofa. Buffy walked into the surreal situation, and we got to see a girl who is normally surrounded by death utterly floored by the reality of someone close to her dying of natural causes. “The Body” remains my favorite episode of the series.

4.
Nate Fisher – Six Feet Under

Nate Fisher - Six Feet Under

Nate had a brain problem called AVM. He had it under control, and had just had surgery even, ensuring he was well. But he died due to post-op complications. Um. NO! That doesn’t happen to our favorite television characters. That’s too real. But coming from a show about death, would we expect less? The funeral afterward was another sucker punch. Of course, this was before we knew the finale was coming and we’d never hear Sia again without crying softly (or heavily).

5.
Mark Greene – ER

Mark Greene - ER

Mark Greene suffered from cancer for a long time before he died, and his daughter was really suffering as well. He decided to spend the end of his life tring to make hers better by taking her to Hawaii where he grew up. Rachel eventually calls Elizabeth to come help her with him and while his family is on the beach and life carries on and he listens to that damn sappy version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, he dies. Seriously, reliving these on YouTube is killing me!

6.
Poussey Washington – Orange Is the New Black

Poussey Washington - Orange Is the New Black

Long before this brutal type of killing was realized in our everyday lives, Poussey Washington lost her life while standing up for injustices in prison. It was a violent and crushing death on the surface and in how fellow inmates and viewers responded to it. The show wanted to shed light on everyday injustices in prisons and by police officers on the black community, and they succeeded. It’s just too bad it didn’t have the desired effects to bring about actual change.

7.
Peter III – The Great

Peter III - The Great

The Great is very lightly based on history, but the one thing we knew couldn’t last was the marriage between Peter III and Catherine II. Frankly, we never expected to fall for the couple at all. Our Catherine and Peter had a love-hate relationship that we couldn’t help but root for, even though it was the very definition of toxic. So it was pretty surprising when just moments after declaring his enduring love for Catherine (when he was defying her direct orders), Peter fell through the ice and died, leaving Catherine gasping for air at the shock of it. Her reaction was visceral and heartbreaking, which made the death all the more effective to propelling her story forward.

8.
Allison Argent – Teen Wolf

Allison Argent - Teen Wolf

Allison returned from the dead in Teen Wolf: The Movie, but that doesn’t eliminate how we felt about her death when it occurred. Back then, it seemed like something was off with Allison long before she died in a season that threatened to kill off one of the main characters. Nobody expected it to be Allison or Scott. They’re going to find their way back to each other! Well, in her final moments, as she lay dying in his arms, she did tell Scott he was the only guy she ever truly loved. Another truly shocking moment. The tighter lid they keep on the story, the more emotional the loss.

9.
George O-Malley – Grey’s Anatomy

George O-Malley - Grey's Anatomy

Oh man. George made a major decision, to join the Army and do his doctoring there. So OF COURSE nobody would recognize him when a heroic man in uniform who had just been dragged by a bus after stepping in front of it to save a pedestrian was rushed in, barely alive. But when they figured it out? Holy tears batman. Sob much?

10.
Charlie Pace – Lost

Charlie Pace - Lost

Charlie had such a wonderful journey as a character on Lost, which made watching him accept a suicide mission terrible to watch. Even though Desmond already saw it happen in a vision, it was possible to change the endings of them before, so we hoped Charlie’s fate would change, as well. Instead, he saved everyone, and drowned after giving Desmond a message on his hand. Gut-wrenching!

11.
Lt. Colonel Henry Blake – M*A*S*H

Lt. Colonel Henry Blake - M*A*S*H

Everybody wanted to get away from the war. Their ticket home was the one thing they all agreed upon was the best thing that could happen to them. So there were happy faces and tears of joy that quickly turned to tears of sorrow when Henry Blake’s helicopter was shot down on his way home. So unfair!!!

12.
Logan Roy – Succession

Logan Roy - Succession

Logan Roy’s death was a stunning development on its surface, but beneath that surface, it made perfect sense as the series rocketed toward a conclusion. The premise was always to find his successor, whatever that might be, and let’s face it, Logan wasn’t such a great guy that he needed to survive to the end. A great character, yes, but one of poor character, as it may be. What made this death sad was how his children handled it as the great man left the earth not surrounded lovingly by family but on a business trip on the day of his eldest son’s wedding. His children lived in his often dark shadow, but they felt the enormity of the loss before they could even understand what it meant.

13.
Paul Hennessey – 8 Simple Rules

Paul Hennessey - 8 Simple Rules

When John Ritter died suddenly in real life at the age of 54, the 8 Simple Rules character did as well, while buying milk. The entire cast cried throughout the episode, and knowing they were really missing their friend and father figure make the scenes all the more heart wrenching. John Ritter was loved by all of us as much as by them, too. A last article written by the character about his children only increased the sobs.

14.
Billy Baker – All American

Billy Baker - All American

It broke our hearts when Billy Baker died on All American Season 5 Episode 11. He went out a hero saving Jabari from a bus accident. Since it was sudden, no one got to say goodbye, which made it difficult for the Bakers and Spencer to grieve. Spencer was especially filled with guilt since he and Billy were arguing when Billy died. As his family began to move on, Billy’s presence lives on inside his family, and he’ll be forever missed. He had been the patriarch of the series, and there is a gaping hole from his absence.

15.
Lucy Knight – ER

Lucy Knight - ER

When Carter was stabbed by a lunatic in the ER, as he fell to the floor he saw his friend, Lucy, was already bleeding on the floor. While Carter made it, Lucy didn’t. It was pretty rough on the entire ER because she was loved by all. No, it didn’t help knowing Kellie Martin wanted to leave the show. Not one bit.

16.
Juliet Burke – Lost

Juliet Burke - Lost

Let’s be honest, Sawyer didn’t start out as the romantic hero, but that’s sure how he ended up, and he paid the terrible price of having the love of his life dying in his arms after she fell down into the hole with the bomb they were trying to set off. He heard her down there, alive, and dug his way to her. First she said to him what they’ll say when the remember each other in the afterlife. Just wow. Then she asked him to kiss her, then said she had something really important to tell him and died in his arms. It’s even more powerful watching it again!

17.
Gabriel Reyes – 9-1-1: Lone Star

Gabriel Reyes - 9-1-1: Lone Star

In the series’ supersized season four finale, what should’ve been a happy celebration of love as Carlos and T.K. prepared for their wedding took an utterly shocking turn when, mere hours after Carlos asked his father to be his Best Man, the Reyes Patriarch was gunned down at his doorstep.
And worst yet, as it stands, there is no rhyme, reason, or answers to who is behind the senseless murder.
With one grooming tragically losing his mother a year prior, a wedding was marred by tragedy, and one of the most compelling characters and father/son relationships on the series came to a close in a most devastating fashion, changing the trajectory of this series and Carlos’ arc for seasons to come.

18.
Sybil Crawley – Downton Abbey

Sybil Crawley - Downton Abbey

Sybil’s baby wasn’t being born properly, and if they didn’t do something soon, she was going to die. Well, guess what? She died! Lord Grantham refused to take the word of the doctor Lady Grantham trusted, and as a result, her daughter died in childbirth. All because he wanted to stick with the old-fashioned practices. Sybil delivered her child, and everyone thought all was well. Only later her health deteriorated, and she was gone. It was unexpected and shocking.

19.
Bobby Simone – NYPD Blue

Bobby Simone - NYPD Blue

The actual death scene of Bobby Simone on NYPD Blue was beautiful, full of meaningful touches and thoughts as he came closer and closer to death after suffering from a bacterial infection that went to his brain due to complications after a heart transplant. He cried as he came to one more time befor his las breath and so did we.

20.
Zeek Braverman – Parenthood

Zeek Braverman - Parenthood

We almost always expected Zeek would die before the series concluded, but they dragged his life out to the bitter end, allowing him to live to see his grandchild born and start planning a vacation with Millie. That was the kicker. You just knew he wouldn’t make it then. So when he died in his chair, it felt too permanent. No Parenthood reunion show or movie would ever be the same because Zeek was the heart of the show. Spreading his ashes? Goodness.

21.
Lexie Grey – Grey’s Anatomy

Lexie Grey - Grey's Anatomy

Plane crash on Grey’s and the body count rises. Mark declares his love for Lexie, who only wants him to hold her hand while she goes. Instead, he tells her how wonderful their lives will be when the end up together. They’re meant to be. And she just slips away. Oh for God’s sake! Meredith arrived on the scene about 30 seconds after she was gone. Scream sobs from her and us!

22.
Seymour Asses – Futurama

Seymour Asses - Futurama

Fry found stray dog Seymour and they became best friends. When Fry was accidententally cryogenically frozen, Seymour tried to get Fry’s family to understand what happened. When they didn’t, he spent the next 12 years in one place, just waiting for Fry to come back. Then he died. The zinger? Fry came out of it and had the chance to clone Seymour, but stopped just short. Why? Because he learned Seymour lived 12 more years without him and didn’t think it was fair to do that to his friend, who had shared a wonderful and full life without him, forgetting all about him while he was gone. See the irony there? There was nobody to tell him Seymour’s entire life was spent waiting for the friend he loved so much and he would have given anything to see Fry again. Oh. I’m sobbing just thinking about it again!

23.
Mr. Hooper – Sesame Street

Mr. Hooper - Sesame Street

For a lot of thirty somethings, Mr Hooper was their first exposure to death. Actor Will Lee’s passing hit the Sesame Street family hard, but the writers decided to use it as a teachable moment and not dodge the issue of death. Using Big Bird as a surrogate for kids, the grieving cast members gently try to explain death the the six foot tall four year old. Big Bird’s confusion, anger, and sadness still resonate. We dare you to watch that scene and not get a little choked up.

24.
Jamie Whelan – Law & Order: Organized Crime

Jamie Whelan - Law & Order: Organized Crime

When Whelan first joined the Organized Crime Unit, he was a spitfire — a mini-Stabler that did his own thing and caused as many problems as he solved. We were looking forward to what he might become under Stabler’s tutelage, but he never got that chance. Minutes after bantering with Reyes about his vacation plans that had been interrupted by this case, Whelan was shot in the neck. In short order, he nearly bled out, learned he was paralyzed, and begged to die before getting his wish. If that wasn’t devastating enough, the team’s responses were painful, especially Jet’s. Whelan was the second man she loved this season and her stunned silence when she learned that Whelan was gone broke our hearts.

25.
Captain Liam Shaw – Star Trek: Picard

Captain Liam Shaw - Star Trek: Picard

Shaw’s introduction as captain of the USS Titan led us to believe he’d be an obstacle at best, and a villain at worst. His refusal of Picard and Riker’s call to adventure, his obvious prejudice towards Seven’s Borg history, and his less than exemplary dinner manners pointed the way to an officious, bigoted, uncouth stick-in-the-mud, a real party pooper.

So how amazing is it that he developed in Season 3’s most popular non-TNG character? He proved to be a talented engineer, a staunch battle companion, and a clear-sighted judge of character. We learned how he lived with his survivor’s guilt from Wolf 359, worshiped Commodore La Forge, and never lost touch with his Chicago roots.

His death may have been telegraphed from early scenes, but that doesn’t detract from its tragedy. Passing the torch to Seven on the field of battle only cements the man’s legacy as a leader of worth whose only hope was to captain his ship in a safe and sensible manner.

26.
Amber Volakis – House

Amber Volakis - House

Amber was a really strong character and a great foil for House. Although she doesn’t end up working with House, she becomes involved with Wilson and ends up as a patient of House’s when she is poisoned with Flu medication due to bad kidneys after a bus accident her and House were in. It was like a “Wilson can’t have nice things” scenario when she died in his arms. Wilson was gutted and we were for him.

27.
Rosita Espinosa – The Walking Dead

Rosita Espinosa - The Walking Dead

AMC’s zombie epic wrapped up on a hopeful note after 11 seasons, but there was a big death in the form of Rosita Espinoza.
The decision was driven by star Cristian Serratos wanting closure as the franchise expanded.
Rosita was one of the most badass characters in TV history, saving several key players. She died while trying to save her daughter, Coco, at the Commonwealth.
Despite believing Rosita escaped unscathed, we later learned she was bitten by a walker, bringing the show to a close as the remaining survivors prepared for what came next.
Rosita’s memory lives on at the Commonwealth thanks to a memorial and, of course, through Max and Eugene’s daughter, Rosie.

Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 20 Review: The Winds Of Change Are Starting To Blow

Not only did Archer pull a six-foot tapeworm out of a man, but somehow he could tell the story over lunch without anyone losing their appetite.

As a doctor, Hannah’s probably seen a lot, but still. That wasn’t appropriate lunch table conversation!

The tapeworm incident was only one of several odd stories on Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 20,  but it left an impression!

The visuals of a tapeworm sticking its head out during surgery were shocking and dramatic. But is this how tapeworms are usually diagnosed and treated?

Maybe the budget cuts at the ED stopped Archer from being thorough in his testing, but I’d think that if a patient came in with weight loss and stomach pain, the hospital would do blood tests and take stool samples as well as order a CT scan.

That probably wouldn’t be as dramatic as the parasite deciding to appear in the middle of surgery, so Chicago Med didn’t go that way.

Thankfully, Archer was able to get it out without significant complications — at the same time as Asher was helping the patient’s wife through labor despite nobody being aware she was pregnant. What were the chances of that?

I know some women don’t show throughout most of their pregnancy, and PCOS can cause irregular periods, so Pam had a reason not to be concerned about hers being late. Still, the trope of the woman not knowing she’s pregnant is incredibly overused on TV,

Pam’s labor juxtaposed perfectly with the tapeworm removal, but it was hard to take this story seriously. Both husband and wife experiencing a bizarre event simultaneously was a bit much to believe!

After the birth, I misread everything that was going on. While Sean appeared to be enamored with Hannah earlier in the hour, I thought his dopey smile was because he helped deliver a baby.

I also thought that since Hannah made such a big deal out of checking on Pam and the child, something would turn out to be wrong, and the baby would end up in the NICU.

Wrong and wrong. All that was set up for a ridiculous and unnecessary father/son love triangle.

If there’s one trope I hate with a passion, it’s when someone acts on a misunderstanding that could be cleared up in two seconds instead of communicating and learning the truth.

Sean’s skulking away appears to be just that.

Hannah is blissfully unaware he has a crush on her, and there was nothing romantic about what was happening between her and Archer. But Sean probably thinks his dad decided to romance her, so Sean couldn’t.

That’s a recipe for unnecessary drama. Sean might verbally attack a bemused Archer or withdraw his offer to donate a kidney, neither of which is a great way to handle this situation.

Let’s hope Med surprises me and this situation is resolved quickly. The first scene of Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 21 would be acceptable.

We already had one ridiculous triangle involving a parent and child when Marcel was caught between Avery and her mother. Thank goodness both those annoying characters were shuffled off-screen!

We don’t need a repeat now.

Marcel’s current story is the most exciting one as Chicago Med approaches the end of Season 8. Jack Dayton began as someone who felt he owed Marcel a favor because Marcel saved him and his engineer after a train collapse, but he won’t appreciate Marcel defying his new rules.

Dayton’s becoming more and more the stereotypical evil tycoon, which is a shame because he started with such promise. But at least his tech can save lives once Med’s staff get its creator out of the way.

Something untoward happened while Marcel was working with OR 2.0. It didn’t get stuck while calculating by coincidence.

Dayton can be petty, but would he really cause a patient’s death because he’s angry that Sharon stopped his wealthy friend from hogging the machine when he wasn’t using it?

Sharon: Anything I can do to make you stop looking [for another job]?
Maggie: You got a time machine so we can go back to the time when we used to put people over profits?

If so, Marcel will get to the bottom of it. He’s upset and doesn’t understand how this patient stroked out without 2.0 warning him, so he’s not about to let it go.

If Marcel discovers that Dayton sabotaged 2.0 out of spite, it will be ON. (It also will probably be grounds for a lawsuit, but I’m not sure if Chicago Med will go that way with this.)

Sharon’s also had enough of Dayton. He might have the money and the tech, but he’s met his match and doesn’t know it. Sharon does NOT play around regarding patient care; if Dayton’s crossed a line, he will be sorry.

And Will, who has never met a rule he doesn’t consider optional, isn’t about to accept Dayton’s interference with patient care either.

One way or the other, Dayton is going down!

Meanwhile, how many times does Dr. Charles have to explain that you can’t talk someone out of a delusion?

This is far from the first time someone tried to do that, with nearly disastrous results.

Charles’ playing along with Jan’s delusions got her into the hospital. It was a miracle that she agreed to let anyone stitch her hand up.

Too bad Zac’s scenes were off-screen — I’d love to know how the resident dealt with Jan and her conspiracy theories. But Charles was right that the best they could do was to plant a seed about getting Jan to see a therapist.

Why did Maggie take it so personally? I know she’s a cancer survivor, but that didn’t seem like enough of a reason to get this angry. Was she taking it out on Charles that she was powerless to do anything about the way Dayton was changing Gaffney for the worse?

Beau Mirchoff Talks Doing Double Duty on #HallmarkRide & #Good Trouble

Beau Mirchoff has starred in many series, including Awkward and Good Trouble. Still, he’s become leading man material on Ride, the new family drama about the McMurrays who are trying everything to save their ranch.

Mirchoff plays the middle son, who is complicated. He has only recently returned from the service and has been thrown into the family tradition of bull riding with his brother’s widow and his long-time crush Missy as his crush. Talk about complicated.

Mirchoff also guest-stars on Good Trouble as Jamie Hunter, and Jamie and Callie Adams-Foster recently got engaged.

We chatted with Mirchoff about Cash’s motivations for bull riding, his relationships with Valeria and Missy, and if he could tease anything about the Jamie and Callie wedding on Good Trouble.

Check it out below.

Hi Beau. What has been your favorite part about playing Cash McMurray on Hallmark’s Ride so far?

That’s a good question. There are so many. I like how complicated Cash is. That’s fun to play as an actor when it’s hard for him to articulate his feelings, and he’s got a lot going on and a lot of pressure in his life.

So, those are fun aspects to play. But then, on top of that, playing a cowboy has been a dream come true.

How has it been getting along with the cast that plays your family?

That’s been a treat. They’re all lovely human beings, and we’re all genuinely friends. So, spending so much time on set with these people has been relaxed, and it helps when you like them.

I’ve also noticed that Cash has had a lot of women buzzing around him since the series began. What do you think is going to happen?

I have no idea. Cash is not the type to have a different girl in every town. He’s looking for something more meaningful but a comfortable and healthy relationship.

I am still determining how that will materialize.

So, is he ever going to tell Missy how he feels? Or is that in the past?

I don’t know. You’ll have to watch him find out. That’s definitely a possibility. I don’t know if it will be reciprocated.

I think it’s inevitable that he will at some point express, however successfully or not, remains to be seen. But I think he’ll do his best to communicate his feelings.

I see. Or has he moved on with Val? Because they have a kindred spirit connection now.

Yeah, they do. I don’t think he’s moved on. There will always be a special place in Cash’s heart for Missy.

So, are he and Val just good friends or soulmates in another way?

I don’t know. Maybe it could blossom into something. They have something special, but you must water the seed and give it sunshine, and we’ll see what happens.

So, is bull riding in Cash’s blood, or is he living in the shadow of his older brother?

That’s the million-dollar question. I think it’s in his blood. He says a couple of times in Ride Season 1 Episode 1 that when he’s at those eight seconds, he’s focused on the moment and that it’s a respite from his demons.

More than that, it’s a union with the animal he loves. There are all those pressures of living up to expectations, and he’s affected by that big time. I don’t think he wishes he didn’t have to do that.

Absolutely. I know Isabel said Cash is a lot like his dad. He seems to be a lot like her with his sense of responsibility. Is that part of it, and that he feels responsible for helping his mother save the ranch?

Sure. Absolutely. No question there. Nancy was referring to how we see Austin as more like Isabel and Cash as more like Dust personality-wise. Half his DNA is hers, with many similarities, especially concerning family and caring for the ranch.

What is Cash’s mindset going into the Denver race with his injured hand on Ride Season 1 Episode 7 and feeling like he still has so much to prove?

His mindset? He’s got to win, no matter what. This is his chance to do it, and he will not let an injury get in the way.

Why is it so crucial for Cash to ride even with an injury? And is it because of why he was injured, or is it because he feels he has something to prove?

I think he’s all of those things. He has something to prove for sure. He is untested, and he has yet to prove himself time and time again like someone like Austin. He’s also trying to make money to save the ranch. Those are the two main obstacles he is currently dealing with.

What can you tell us is still coming up for Cash in this episode or the rest of the season?

Many surprising storylines are coming up, and some new information is revealed. He’s forced to contend with a lot of drama, do some soul-searching, and figure out his purpose and why he is doing it.

Well, we can’t wait to see that. You’ve been doing some double-duty guest-starring as Jamie in Good Trouble Season 5. Jamie and Callie just got engaged. Can you tease when we’ll see them again or the big wedding?

I don’t know. That’s the honest answer. It’s safe to say that I will be back sometime this season.

I certainly hope so. We’re massive fans of yours on both shows; everybody was rooting for Jamie and Callie to get together for good. That would be a fantastic big event at the Coterie.

I’m excited for them. It’ll be fun to see everyone together.

We haven’t had a big Adams-Fosters wedding since Brandon got married and Jamie and Callie met.

That’s right! No destination wedding, though. Well, maybe. I don’t want to jinx anything.

We’re looking forward to it. Your fans love seeing you on both shows.

That’s right. Hopefully, they’re not sick of me.

We’re always happy to watch you on TV, Beau.

Ride Season 1 airs on Sundays at 9/8c on the Hallmark Channel.
