“Jeopardy!” Champion Amy Schneider took a trip to The White House to meet with Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, discussing the importance of trans awareness on the Transgender Day of Visibility.
Amy spoke to reporters in the White House Briefing Room Thursday, saying she was invited to meet with Emhoff about advancing transgender visibility and equality in the country … and on the national holiday that was proclaimed by President Biden the previous year.
C-SPAN
The trivia champ was eager to continue her mission spreading awareness of the transgender community, and her time spent with the Second Gentleman was a big step forward.
On the same day as Amy’s meeting, Biden announced new measures that, hopefully, make more people feel accepted in the country … including gender-neutral TSA scanners and the “X” gender option on passport applications.
As you’ll recall, Amy was the first transgender “Jeopardy!” contestant to qualify for the show’s Tournament of Champions, and is the most successful woman ever in the show’s history … winning 40 games in a row and pocketing $1.38 million dollars!
After her rise to fame, Amy quit her job as a software engineer and is looking to find something more educational for work. Go get ’em, Amy!
HALO Season 1 Episode 2 had the right amount of action, moving pieces, and world-building to reiterate that the TV adaptation has the legs to carry the franchise to new heights.
The desperate mission to Rubble was an excellent way to bring more humanity to John.
While HALO Season 1 Episode 1 highlighted there was more going on behind his eyes than we were being led to believe, “Unbound” stressed that his kindness seems deeply tied to his past.
Giving Soren that head start all those years ago was a key development because it gave John and Kwan somewhere to hide out temporarily.
Soren clearly understood there was something amiss about the Spartan program and didn’t want to lose the memories that we’ve witnessed return to John.
There are many questions surrounding Soren’s survival, but he certainly seemed trustworthy enough to look after Kwan.
Maybe I’m too skeptical, but with so many years passing, it’s hard to believe that no one on Rubble will feed information back to Vinisher that Kwan is alive and kicking.
Rubble being this incredible place the people who fall out of favor with society was a clear direction to take things.
But with a bounty on Kwan, it will only be a matter of time before someone — or something — enacts a plan to make some quick money.
Leaving Kwan in the care of Soren was huge, but Kwan doesn’t strike me as the type of person to be told what to do.
Yes, she’ll be upset at John for leaving her behind, but if she understands the bigger picture, it might build some trust between them down the line.
The mystery surrounding the object is being told at a decent enough pace, and Reth’s observations about it only added to the intrigue.
Reth living to tell the tale after spending time on a Covenant ship is something commendable, but it’s clear the aliens did a number on him.
Will he ever be able to regain the life he lost, or will he be destined to be locked up for the rest of his life?
Reth touching the artifact was even more shocking. Did he expect that the time he spent with the aliens would give him some sort of power?
Reth was visibly shocked by what happened when John was forced to touch the device. The blue energy is pretty consuming, but it also made me think that Reth has not seen the true extent of its power.
Might it be the case that John’s connection to it is natural? I mean, we know he’s been experimented on in some way, but what if his family line has something to do with it?
The series seems intent on diverging from the games, which is good. Beyond the locations and some of the characters, the series has been standing on its own two feet throughout these first two episodes.
John’s trust in Halsey continued to shine through, and when you think about it, it makes sense. Halsey has given viewers no reason to question her motives.
She’s been intent on the Spartan cause since the beginning, and you could tell John’s return allowed her to delve deeper into her machinations.
The tricky part of her operation is that the Admiral is getting annoyed about the fact that she’s being told things on a need-to-know basis.
Maybe that makes Halsey scarier, but there’s a lot of interest in the products she makes.
Heck, maybe Halsey wants to create an army of her own. Cortana should get her closer to the goal, assuming Halsey is not fabricating anything.
There are many, many questions about what is going on with the UNSC, and I expect John to come in contact with Vinisher before long.
Vinisher is another excellent character because he’s so darn cutthroat. He’s unpredictable and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Knowing that Kwan survived the ordeal on Madrigal and is still alive after a Spartan did not follow orders must be eating away at him.
There is so much we don’t know about the other characters and their wants, and it’s part of the fun.
Over to you, HALO fanatics!
What did you think of the trip to Rubble?
Do you think Soren is to be trusted?
What are your thoughts on John’s visions?
Will the Admiral turn on Halsey, or does she know they need to work together?
How long do you think Vinisher will spend looking for everyone?

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Shannon starred as FBI negotiator Gary Noesner in Paramount Network’s 2018 series Waco and four years later he has boarded the follow up series as an executive producer.
Shannon is set as one of the exec producers, alongside creators and showrunners Drew and John Erick Dowdle, for Paramount+’s American Tragedies: Waco – The Trials (w/t).
The drama was first teased in February 2021 at Paramount’s investor day to launch its streaming service, although little was known about the project at the time.
The new series is slated to launch in 2023 to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the tragic events in Texas.
Waco, which also starred Taylor Kitsch, Andrea Riseborough, Paul Sparks, Rory Culkin, Julia Garner and Melissa Benoist, explored the events in February 1993 in Mount Carmel, a small religious community when a raid by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) on David Koresh and his followers, known as the Branch Davidians led to a massive standoff and the death of dozens.
American Tragedies: Waco – The Trials will explore the wide-ranging fallout following these events and the uneven scales of justice the surviving Branch Davidians faced. It will also delve into how the horrific events fueled the emerging ‘Patriot’ movement, which ultimately led to the most destructive act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history – the Oklahoma City bombing.
The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios and production is set to kick off this week in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
In addition to Shannon and John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle, Andrew Gettens and Lauren Mackenzie, who have worked on series including CBS’ Elementary and Netflix’s Hit & Run, will write and exec produce. David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Ron Burkle will exec produce for 101 Studios and Keith Cox and Lauren Ruggiero are the execs in charge of production for MTV Entertainment Studios.
‘Masked Singer’ costumes don’t come cheap, and one contestant’s lucky theirs isn’t damaged beyond repair after a high kick fail led to a very nasty fall … all caught on camera.
We got this footage of the Armadillo going down while shooting their televised routine — the celeb got pretty wild with their choreography and flexibility, attempting some kinda kicking maneuver … but it did not go well.
While the spill might make ya chuckle, we’re told folks on set immediately panicked for a couple reasons. First off, Armadillo landed flat on their back, and backup dancers broke routine to try to help out … as everyone was concerned about the celeb’s well-being.
The other reason is damage to the very expensive costume. We’re told they weren’t designed to take this kinda beating, and producers worried it could be ruined.
Fox
As we’ve reported, this season has had its share of costume problems … with some taking tumbles and others being unable to enter and exit the stage properly.
We recently found out that the Hydra — a towering 3-headed costume that blows smoke — has become a major safety concern, requiring extra crew just to get them on set.
It might not look like much, but the Armadillo’s high kicks aren’t an easy task — with or without a restricting costume. The mystery performer’s confidence in their athleticism/flexibility might be a valuable clue.
From what we’re told, Armadillo didn’t sustain any major injuries, and the routine is going to air on the show. It remains to be seen if Armadillo survives elimination.

Hallmark wants to give Abby’s and Evan’s relationship a little more time. The cable channel has renewed the Chesapeake Shores TV series for a sixth and final season. The fifth season finished airing in October.
A Canadian-American drama, the Chesapeake Shores TV series stars Meghan Ory, Treat Williams, Diane Ladd, Robert Buckley, Barbara Niven, Laci J. Mailey, Emilie Ullerup, Brendan Penny, and Andrew Francis. The story explores the lives of the O’Brien family, after the homecoming of eldest daughter Abby O’Brien (Ory), a high-powered career woman and divorced mother of two. Over the past few seasons, Abby has leaned on her family to strike a balance between her professional and personal lives. The fifth season saw her coming into her own as her father Mick’s (Williams) new business partner and facing a new challenge when successful and eccentric entrepreneur Evan McKenzie (Buckley) brings a new development project into town.
Airing on Sunday nights, the fifth season of Chesapeake Shores averaged a 0.10 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.46 million viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 46% in the demo and down by 14% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. The series is the lowest-rated of Hallmark’s limited slate of original scripted shows.
Here’s the sixth season renewal announcement. Based on the cast listed, it appears that Ladd won’t be returning.
